Change presents multi-dimensional challenges to business. Whether considering the impact on customers, staff, systems or logistics, change presents risks. Incite On work with clients to understand, map and document those risks. This facilitates an informed debate about how to assign the responsibility of managing those risks. Aligned with a programme that delivers progress, this approach to change forms the foundation of the Incite On Business Transformation Planning service.
One of the UK’s largest providers of outsourced services to the public sector needed to identify and deliver a new level of value adding service to a major public sector client. Although recognised as delivering a satisfactory service it was the nature of the client that this service needed to be outstanding, allowing them to consolidate and expand into other major public sector organisations.
Incite On’s brief was to identify and establish a baseline position from which the organisations could make informed strategic decisions about a potential transformation programme, also to be developed by Incite On. The transformation programme had to clearly identify the strategic steps required to move from satisfactory to outstanding service delivery.
Incite On worked firstly with the executive team of that organisation before spending time with the front line service providers.
At that time the baseline assessment revealed a significant operational bias within the management and service delivery teams, with a proud ‘fire fighting’ tradition. This masked the true potential of the team whose experience, expertise and opinion where not being engaged in transforming satisfactory service delivery to outstanding.
Incite On worked with the client to clearly identify the specific areas of challenge, and the potential for transformation. This was presented as a business transformation plan allowing the client to drill down to levels of detail at an operational level to identify specific measurable actions that would deliver the desired change.
